I am glad that despite the madness of this year (the forty freakish races), I am still able to block out a lovely Sunday and end the year with what I love to do – eat charred food together.
I love being around my tribe. They remind me, time and again, why I chose to be a teacher sixteen years ago, why I want to still teach, sixteen years after and why I always seek to improve and be a better version of myself.
I hope to continue to guide them through life’s journey so that they make less severe of the mistakes I have made. I hope they know they have me to be there for them through the good times and the bad times. I hope to be their lifelong role model and mentor.
So in 2017, continue to encourage one another, be proud of yourselves, do your best, be happy, try new things, listen to your parents, forgive others, tell the truth, say please and thank you and work hard.
It had been a wildly good year in 2016. I’m pretty sure, it’s just going to get wilder and better in 2017.
